“Though the wolf’s head lay at her feet, still warm with blood, Bonnie had yet to feel the weight of her conquest. All she could taste was the permanence of her action- the silence where breath once was. Who was she to deem life unworthy? She was no one.
As the dust settled, her vision sharpened. The thunder in her chest now quiet. Bonnie wished she could change the past. Her mind stung with regret. But if she hadn’t done this, she wouldn’t have learned. As the sun descended into night, the universe whispered truths only blood could summon.
Bonnie now held the world gently in her hands. In spite of her sin, or perhaps, because of it, she had returned to innocence.”
