“This series of four is about finding a sense of belonging and peace, both in yourself and the universe. By likening your self to the life cycle of a flower, you can learn a lot about your own expectations of yourself, and how strenuous they may be. You cannot expect yourself to be ‘on’ all the time. A flower will not always be in bloom. They teach us to enjoy the good times, but to also find peace in the bad times.

Process-wise, I am enjoying abstracting my figures and forms. In doing this, it is important to me to preserve what makes my art, my own. Namely, my unique color palette, mark making, and patterning, which are a constant in much of my body of work.”
